The makings of a great birthday card...

This week is the birthday of one of my very special friends.  I love her so much and had to make her a great card.  I made her two, one of which was a basic black with a thin blue line across it.  She is a Sargent in the Police Department and that combination represents all the fallen police officers.  I cannot honor them enough.  The second card I made was one that my children gave to her.  I just loved making this card for them to give to her.  I think it came out pretty.  The kids loved it and I am pretty sure she liked it too.  I just love being able to create one of a kind cards for people, don't you?

You can never go wrong with the Pool Party, Basic Black and Whisper White combo ~
You can quote me on that!

Put your clear stamps together nice, straight and EASY!

Hi Beauties~

I have found so many great tips and techniques on the internet.  Also, as you know, I belong to a great group of Stampin' Up Demonstrator's called weStamp.  We get together once a month and share what we do.  Earlier this week, one of the demonstrators Peggy Powers, showed us this really great technique.  If you have had issues putting your clear Stampin' Up! stamps together, you are going to want to watch this video.

Wasn't that fast and easy.  It is the easiest way I have seen it yet and it sticks much better when the plastic sheet is flat rather than having all the folds I got when I used to put them together the old way.  I will always put my clear stamps together this way from now on.  Try it yourself and let me know what you think!

If you are interested in being a part of this great group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators, please call or email me.  For more information on how to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator CLICK HERE !

Personalize your Greeting Cards | Photopolymer Stamps

Hi Beauties~

This week, my children and Grandchild received this great card my dear friend Lisa.  It is such a cute card that I had to share it with you all.

I loved the word BABY!  It was so cute that it got me to thinking how awesome it is to be able to make personalized words using various letters.  Than I thought of Stampin' Up!'s first Photopolymer stamp set that had all the small letters in it.  I immediately went to my craft room and made my friend a card using this technique that Lisa had used.

Do you see the funny-ness in this card?  Nothing really matches, just like a hipster's typical outfit.  I thought it was pretty witty myself!  Of course, I was on a roll.  I thought about what else I could use to punch out those little letters.  This is what I came up with.

I know there are so many more and can't wait to try more and more each week.  Here is the LOVE card I made.  I know, I know, it's too early for Valentine's Cards, but I just got too excited.  Please forgive me.

You can check out the newest Photopolymer Stamper Set below and all of them in my online store.

Have you seen all the great cards out there using the Painter's Tape Technique?  I sure have and I love it!  I decided to give it a try myself and this is what I came up with!

I think it came out pretty cute, especially since I didn't really know what I was doing.  Here is a video of me making this card.  Watch me in action, as I try to figure out what this Painter's Tape Technique was all about.

Not to bad for my first try, if I must say so myself.  Get all your inks to try this technique by visiting the Ink Pad section on my Online Store.

The size doesn't fit what I need? Well, Make it fit!

Hi Beauties~

Do you ever have a die or stamp that just doesn't fit what you are needing it to fit?  I do all the time.  So I often try to come up with ways that can manipulate the stamp or cardstock to make it fit.  And... that is just what I have done here.

Check out the video to see how easy it was to make my Floral Frames Framelits Die smaller than the intended size.  I also really like the tie die effect on the tags for you Happy THANKS Giving.  I will also show you how I did that in this video tutorial as well.  Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Men need Thank you's too!

Hi Beauties~

Today, I had a wonderful experience at church and had to thank my Pastor for listening to the Holy Spirit on my behalf.  It literally brought me and many others to tears.  Hands were laid upon those with health issues this week and it was a beautiful experience for all involved.  You could hear the tears all around (from those doing the praying, to those being prayed for).  So with this in mind, there was not way I couldn't stop to thank Pastor Dan for such an amazing experience.  I came home and immediately made him a card.  This is what I came up with.

I just loved this card and think I will make a video tutorial soon, as it was so quick and easy and I really liked that it was a masculine thank you card that could be made in about 3-5 minutes.  I sure hopes he feels the love that I am sending through this card.

Washi Wednesday - Halloween Greeting Card

Hi Beauties~

I am falling in L-O-V-E with Washi Tape.  So much so, that I think I want to try something new with Washi Tape each week.  For my maiden Washi voyage, I am trying something very easy... a simple Halloween card.  Here is the Halloween card I made using the Witches' Brew Washi Tape from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.

See this card made by watching the video below

Wasn't that fun?

Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape

Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape 132156
Price: $4.95
Attach embellishments to your projects with style! 3 designs per package; 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" widths. 5 yards of each design. Acid free, lignin free. Coordinates with our Witches' Brew Designer Series Paper.

Here is a little random information I found on Washi - ENJOY!
Washi (和紙) is a style of paper that was first made in Japan. Washi is commonly made using fibers from the bark of the gampi tree, the mitsumata shrub (Edgeworthia chrysantha), or the paper mulberry, but also can be made using bamboo, hemp, rice, and wheat. Washi comes from wa meaning Japanese and shi meaning paper, and the term is used to describe paper made by hand in the traditional manner.

Mosaic Stamping Technique

Hi Beauties~

Is it Christmas yet?  Well, today it is.  I just loved seeing this Mosaic Stamping Technique on Dawn Olchefske's you tube video.  I liked it so much and thought it would be a great Christmas card.  Here is what I came up with.

Isn't the Santa's List stamp so cute?  Wondering how I made the Mosaic look?  I was so perplexed when I saw my first mosaic card.  Then I watched Dawn's video and saw just how easy it is.  I hope you watch this video and it inspires you to create your own, one of a kind, mosaic card.

Augmented Reality make the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog come alive

Hi Beauties~

You may have seen the little Interactive Icons within the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  You will need to upload the Layar App for your mobile device to get the effect of augmented reality.  For a full effect of what this new way of viewing is all about, then check out the way the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog, and hopefully more catalogs to come.

Was that awesome or what!?

As found in Webopedia: Abbreviated as AR, Augmented Reality is a type of virtual reality that aims to duplicate the world's environment in a computer. An augmented reality system generates a composite view for the user that is the combination of the real scene viewed by the user and a virtual scene generated by the computer that augments the scene with additional information. The virtual scene generated by the computer is designed to enhance the user's sensory perception of the virtual world they are seeing or interacting with. The goal of Augmented Reality is to create a system in which the user cannot tell the difference between the real world and the virtual augmentation of it.

Today Augmented Reality is used in entertainment, military training, engineering design, robotics, manufacturing and now Stampin' Up!

Product Review - Stampin' Up! Expressions Thinlits Dies

Hi Beauties~

I always try to keep my customers the happiest they can be.  With that being said, I feel it is up to me to be 100% honest with them about all of the products I represent.  I, sadly, was not too impressed with the Expressions Thinlits and have posted my comments and review here for you to explain my thoughts.

If you have had other experiences that are better than mine, I would love to hear about it.  And if you have any other special tips or techniques on how to use them in a more time effective way, I would like to hear about that as well.

On a plus note:  In my many, many years of using Stampin' Up! products, this is one of the very few products that I have had a negative review on.

Hi Beauties~

Have you seen Stampin' Up! new Simply Pressed Clay?  It is totally cool (yep, I am an 80's child).  I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but I gave it a shot anyway and I was wrong, I love it.  It is so versatile.  You can use it in the Buttons and Blossoms Mold or let your mind wander and see what else you can use for a mold.  Of course, not everything will work perfectly, as you will see in my video, but trying is half the fun, right?  And then when you find something that works well, you are to the moon!

Here is a card I made using the clay, then I added the piece I hand molded right onto the card.  I like the dimension.  How about you?

Baby Thank You Cards

Hi Beauties~

Oh what a better way than to use all my retired Stampin' Up! products (mixed with some new, of course) than to make precious little thank you cards for all the Baby things that have been happening in my life.  Here is a card that my daughter-in-law and I made.

I am just saying, thank you notes seemed to have gone out of style with the young Gen Y'ers.  I am trying to keep them alive and I think this was a pretty cute way of doing so.  It only took us about and hour or so to make all 20 cards.

I used the Zoo Babies stamp set for the little monkey, I think he is just too cute!

I still have family visiting and as you know my guest room is in my craft room (or vice versa???)  So I have been itching to get to stamping.  I am pretty sure I will have at least one video for you tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Oh and of course I can't pass up an opportunity to brag, here is another picture of my beautiful Grandson Trent with a kiss from Great-Gran (aka my Mom)
