Don't waste those leftover scraps

Don't throw away any of those extra scraps.  I keep a box of unusual scraps, such as leftovers from dies.  Here are the scraps that were leftover from the same card from yesterdays post.  I had the remaining scraps from the scallop circle bigz die.  I made this card for my brother.  He is an insiration to me and definately amazing!  So I knew I had to make this card for him.  I hope he likes it!

Clam Shell Card with added Snaz

I love this card.  I think it look very elegent.  I used the scallop circle Bigz Die (113468) , making sure to leave the folded edge away from a portion of the cutting line.

I love using the little extras to make a plain stamped card beautiful and snazzy.
Here is a closer look at the pearls, plus some twine and paper piercing.

It's A Boy!!! - Gender Reveal and Card

My Son and Daughter-in-law brought me balloons today to reveal the gender of their baby to my husband and me.  It's a boy!!!  Our new grandson (Trent Albert Olson), will be joining us sometime in July!  I can't wait!  I loved these balloons and finding out what my first grandchild will be.

It was such a fun gender reveal.  I was inspired by the colors of the balloons and decided to make his welcome to the world card.  I hope you like it!

It's no Secret...

It is no secret, I love the Secret Garden Stamp Set Bundle.  Here is another card I made using a shadow technique as well as the the alcohol ink technique I showed in a previous post.  I stamped the flowers and then cut them out with the matching sizzlets.  I also cut some plain cardstock in a coordinating color and adhered it slightlty off, to creat a shadow effect (is that affect or effect? hmm...I spent to much time changing the A to an E and back again).  I am much better at stamping than I am at spelling.  I hope you like the card.

Here is a close up, so you can see both techniques.

Personalize your Designer Series Paper

I really like the way this card turned out.  I made it a little extra special and personal using some ink on the already beautiful DSP.  I can't wait to try other designs!  Like the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper (127540) that I'll get free during Sale-a-Bration when I place a $50.00 order.

Here is avideo showing a great tip on how to coordinate and personalize your card using Stampin' Up!'s coordinating paper and ink with their coordinating DSP.

Make your own Alcohol Ink

Hi Beauties!!!

Let's get dirty shall we?

By dirty, I mean ink all over your fingers fun kinda dirty!  I have been having so much fun experimenting with alcohol ink today.  I dropped some on my block, pressed it into my paper and came up with some great funky patterns.  I just bought some inexpensive hand sanitizer (Staples had it on sale, 2 for $1).  Here are a couple of cards I made using this technique.

More Mustard Alcohol Ink was used on this one.
Here is a closer look!

If you would like to see how this was done watch my video on youtube below.  Make sure you subscribe to my channel and to this blog to see more great tips and techniques.

I am pretty sure I will be buying every single re-inker that Stampin' Up! has.

My Valentine

So I have to share...

First off, I hope you had a great Valentine's Day yesterday.  My husband is my valentine everyday.  He opens the car door for me everyday of the year and don't get jealous, but he does all the laundry in our house.  I am truly blessed to have such a great guy.  Well, I could go on forever, but I have to share what I got yesterday.  I did get roses and chocolate covered strawberries, but I think the best thing was him invading my card stash and finding the perfect valentine's card for me.  I don't know if this was swap or if I had done this myself at a stamp camp.  Who knows, but what I do know is I loved it!

Thank you to whomever created this great valentine for me and thank you Tony for loving me so much that you found the perfect card!

Bee Mine

I was laying in bed this morning and this card just came to me.  I thought the More Mustard card stock with the honeycomb embossing folder would look like a great bee home, if you just run the basic black ink pad across the embossed lines.  This was done real quick, but I think the idea comes across well.  i thought the bee was really cute too.  His wings are glitter paper and his body is a large black button with more mustard paper ribbon (shown on previous post).  I added a couple of googlie eyes and a bee is born. Hope you like it!

Match your paper and ribbon perfectly!

I love how Stampin' Up! has Designer Series Paper that match their ink and paper colors perfectly.  They also have great ribbon that matches as well, but sometimes I am loooking for a little something special.  So, I used the same DSP paper for my ribbon and I used on the card.  Pictured below is my card that I decided on, but check out the video to see how I made ribbin for my buttons as well.  Hope you like it!

Enjoy and Learn to make your own ribbon using only paper!

Just because... You are my friend! (and I am addicted to stamping)

Isn't it great to go to your mailbox and find something other than a bill or junk mail?  I think so too.  That is why I send out cards to friends who just need to know that I am thinking about them.  I have so much fun making them and coming up with ideas.  So as my friends think they are just getting a friendly hello card from me, they are actually helping me with my addiction.  And don't get me wrong, of all the addictions one could have, I think stamping is the best one!  Here is today addiction.

I love the button turned inside out, it matches great with the look I was going for.

Tomorrow I am going to a Super Bowl party at my dear friends house.  I want to  make sure I take them a little thank you gift for being great hosts (I know, because they always are).  So I decided to make a Hanging Wall Art for them (with a Valentine's theme, since it is February.  I hope they like it and I hope you do to.

Look close, I love the small details:
