Mixed Media - Gotta Love it !!!

So I know I just posted, but I was so excited about all the MDS that is going on right now, that I had to go and make a quick card using MDS2.  I used the tag that was free this week and printed it out on Certainly Celery cardstock.  I cut it out with my new paper cutter (can I say this thing is great?) then cut a piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper and added a little bling, with ribbons and jewels and a cute little snowflake, it is Christmas after all.  It was such a quick card.  Oh and the best part, is I used MDS and made multiple fit on one sheet, so I can stamp an entire stack in just a few minutes.  Making Christmas cards have never been so easy!!!  Hope you like my quick creation!

    Making Ornaments...

So this weekend I have been experimenting with making different ornaments for the season.  I do this every year so my tree never has more than one of the same ornament.  This is one of them that I made with a glass ornament, some glitter, Stampin' Up! Ink refill and ribbon.  Below, I have made a quick video for you to see how easy it is to add glitter to an ornament.  I always have fun making ornament.  Give it  a try and let me know what you made.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!  Here is a picture of this years card that I give thanks for the creative of a stamper!  I love that I get inspiration from fellow stampers!  Thank you Dani!

    Christmas Game - FUN!

All you need are sturdy paper plates and pens for each player.
The host tells the players to put their paper plate on their head.
Then the host will give a series of instructions for the players to draw on their paper plates (that are on their heads) without looking.
    Here are the instructions:
    1. Draw a line for a floor.
    2. Draw a Christmas Tree. Add decorations if you feel so inclined.
    3. Draw a star on top of your tree.
    4. Draw a fireplace with a mantel next to the tree.
    5. Draw a stocking hanging from the mantel of your fireplace.
    6. Draw a present below the tree.
After the six steps have been given, let everyone look at their masterpieces.
Get ready for a serious laughs!
Now have players count up how many points they received by following this rubric:
    1. 2 points if the tree touches the floor.
    2. 2 points if your stocking is touching your mantel.
    3. 1 point if your star touches your tree.
    4. 1 point if your star is above your tree.
    5. 1 point for every Christmas ornament ball that is ON your tree, etc.
    6. 1 point if your fireplace doesn’t touch the tree (it’s a fire hazard!).
    7. 1 point if you actually drew something decorative on your stocking (or something cute, like a snowman or snowflake).
    8. 2 points if your present is under your tree.
Now, add up all your points and show off your masterpieces to all.  The one with the most points win a nice prize.  The one with the least points wins a small boobie prize.  If there is a tie, then it goes to a vote or you can make up a couple more things to draw.  Have fun!!  It is Christmas ya know!

    More JOY Christmas Card

Since I cut the letters for my previously featured JOY wall art, I had the extra paper with the letters, which looked like a stencil.  So I turned it into a Christmas Card.  I used DSP Be of Good Cheer for the background.  I love the fact that no paper went to waste.  I hope you like it.

JOY JOY JOY and it's down in my heart !

There is nothing like true JOY!  We made a variation of this wall art at the WeStamp Extravaganza last month.  I liked it so much that I decided to try a couple variations to give as gift this holiday season.  I have had so many compliments on it that I thought I would share it with you.  I hope you like it!

Here is a close up of the snowflake, I just love the bling!  Sometimes it's the little touches that really makes a project special.
I cut the letters out with my Cricut, so come back tomorrow to see what I did with the leftover paper.

    DSP Ornament

I made this cute ornament with the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

I cut two 1/2 inch strips of each of the following sizes 4", 5", 6", 7" & 8".  Then, using a paper piercing tool, I poked a hole through the top and bottom of each strip.  Then I organized the paper strips starting with the 4" in the middle then added the other strips on each side as the sizes increase, ending with the 8" on the outsides.  I attached the top with a brad all together, then with a brad on the bottom, stated adding the strips to the bottom brad.  The ornament then starts to take it's shape.  It looked cute as is, but I wanted to add the scallop circle with a candy cane, just to spruce it up a bit.  I added some twine to hook onto the tree and that was it.  Very fast, very easy.  Hope you like it!

The new Stampin' Up! Trimmer is here!!!

Introducing the new and improved Stampin' Trimmer! Although paper trimmers are a common crafting tool, this trimmer was designed exclusively by paper crafters for paper crafters-and because it was made by Stampin' Up!, you know it's a cut above the rest!
Features of the All-New Stampin' Trimmer
    • An extra-wide 6-1/4" cutting base and an extended 14-1/2" ruler
      • The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 1/4" (4 mm) increments, allowing for small measurements.
      • The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.
      • The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.
      • When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface.
      • The cutting base and track include a full ruler, incorporating measurements down to 1/16" and grid lines that mark each quarter inch.
      • All rulers and measurements on the base are printed under a plastic cover so your measurements won't wear off.
      • The base has nonskid feet, which keeps the Stampin' Trimmer securely in place on your work area.
    • A full 12" cutting and scoring track
      • The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you don't have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you're not using them.
      • The track gives you enough space to cut or score a full 12" (30.5 cm) without having to remove or switch out handles.
      • The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.
      • The track includes an insertion point for cutting and scoring blade handles so you can easily insert handles into the cutting track.
    • Specially designed handles and cutting track to ensure straight cuts
      • The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.
      • Handles come in two colors: dark for cutting, light for scoring.
      • The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you're cutting.
      • The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin.
    • Storage compartment under base
      • The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades, and even business cards.
      • Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organized, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you've stored.
    • Product details: item 126889; $29.95

Make your own shimmer ink spritzer

I love the Christmas card I made yesterday, so I am going through the spritzer like crazy, as I am in Christmas card making mode.  I video taped one of the refills so you can see how to make your own spritzer (keep in mind, you can replace the hand sanitizer with alcohol, if you choose).

    Shimmer Snowflake Christmas Card

Well, it's that time of year again.  I love it!  I can't wait for Halloween to come and go, because that means I can start on my Christmas gifts and cards without people thinking I am crazy.  Today I made this Snowflake card using a punchout of a snowflake and just sprizing some shimmer and marina minst ink onto a piece of whisper white card stock.  Then I stamped a quick greeting and layered it in Real Red and Marina Mist card stock.  Blinged it out a bit and I was done.  This card was so quick and easy to make.  Tomorrow, I will show you how I made the shimmer spritzer and then on Tuesday I am going to start "Two Minute Tip Tuesday" where you can find various tips in less than two minutes, I will show you how I made the shimmer stencil reverse snowflake on this card.

Get Well Wishes and Prayer Request

Well, it is with a heavy heart that I show this card, but I wanted to use to open the door to receiving prayer.  My father-in-law is quite ill.  I made this card to let him know that I care for him and that I am praying for God's Will in and with his life.  Please add this man and his family to your prayer requests!  This one is for big Tony!  If you like this card, please re-pin, if for nothing else, than for growing a prayer chain for him.  Also, the Lord has laid it on my heart that any commission made from all purchases made from now through the end of the 2012, from my Stampin' Up! business, will go toward the medical expenses for this family.  If you would like to send him a get well or thinking of you card, please send it directly to me at 5727 W. Villa Theresa Drive  Glendale, AZ  85308 and I will be putting them together to give to him at the end of the month.  Thank you for all your support and prayers!!!

    Spotlight Technique - Christmas Card

This is one of my Christmas cards for this year.  I used the Beautiful Season stamp set - 122682 as well as the scallop punch to spotlight the watercolors against the black stamp on it's own.  I used stampin' dimentionals to make the scallop pop and give it some dimention.  I liked this card so much that I also made this for my group swap of Stampin' Up! demonstrators (weStamp).  I really love this stamp set, it can be used in so many different ways.  The first card is one that I made and then I also found some other cards made by others.  Hope you enjoy the variety.

Happy Retirement Card - Brayering Technique

Here is a retirement card that I made for a friend.  I hope you like it.  It was so easy.  I brayered the embossing plate with Marina Mist and ran it through my Big Shot on Vanilla card stock.  I then stippled the edges with Early Espresso and mounted it on Early Espresso cark stock.  Using an extra piece of Early Espresso card stock, I cut it down to the size of a ribbon and treated it as such.  The using the scallop punch, I punched an extra swatch of Fan Fair DSP (Designer Series Paper).  Stamped a Happy Retirement onto some vanilla card stock and adhered it all together with Stampin' Dimensionals foam dots.  Then gave it some bling with Nuetral Designer Buttons and Pearl Basic Jewels.  You can order any or all of these products directly online and through my website http://www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net

I spread a little peanut butter on the cracker and then drizzled some chocolate on the top in circles (I think this is a healthy enough sweetness, I mean it's better than a cupcake right?).  And then... the Ah Ha moments.  If I take a toothpick and run it through, I think these would make a cute and "somewhat healthy" Spiderweb Treat for Halloween.  I think it worked, don't you?
