Hard Candy Ornaments

Today, I was playing around with hard candy and was wondering if you can stamp on it.
Well, it turns out, you can!  You take the hard candy mints out of the wrapper and melt in the over.  You can melt it for 5 minutes and it will create bubbles,
or you can melt it for only a couple minutes and it will keep some of it's shape, you can then let it sit for a few seconds until it cools slightly.  Then ink up your stamp and press it into the semi-melted candy.  You can use a toothpick to make a hole for an ornament.

I have been playing with it for a few tries and this is what I managed to create.
Who knew you could stamp on Hard Candy?

Well, now I do, and you do too!  Can't wait to see your creations.
If you decide to try this, please email me a picture of your creation to jeanpiersanti@gmail.com

Easy Events Christmas Card

Here is a Christmas Card I made in less than 3 minutes.  Any last minute cards are pretty simple as long as you have the following. Stamps with multiple versus/holidays along with Snail Adhesive, Whisper White Card Stock and Colored Card Stock, Ink and some designer paper.  For this card I used my Big Shot for a bit of texture, but it is not necessary.  I used the Easy Events Stamp Set for this card.  I love this set because you can make Christmas Cards, Birthday Cards, Baby Shower Cards, Wedding Cards, Thank you Cards and more.  If you would like a list of all the products I used to make this card please email me directly at JeanPiersanti@gmail.com.  All of the mentioned products are available on my website at www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net

Easy Cherry Chip Cookies

I know, it's Christmas, but as I was making my Christmas Cookies I couldn't help but think about Valentine's Day and all the great Valentine's Day Cards I will be making.  I am going to have a Valentine's Workshop in January and will be serving these great Cherry Chip Cookies.  Just like a hand stamped card, they are great for both holidays. And can you believe they are made out of just four ingredients and takes less than 15 minutes from ingredients to mouth.

Cherry Chip Cookies Recipe

Mix the following together:
1 Box of Cherry Chip Cake Mix
1 Stick Butter Melted
1 Egg
Powdered Sugar

Once mixed, roll in small balls, the size of large gumdrops, then roll in powdered sugar.
Set oven to 350 degrees and bake for 10 minutes.
Yields over 3 dozen cookies.

Tee Shirt Gifts - No Sew

As you know, our Stampin' Up! girls got together for a Christmas party last week.  One of the gifts was an awesome scarf made out of a tee-shirt.  The woman who made it, gave directions on how to make one, so I listened intently and decided to give it a try.  And I had to document it in pictures, so I could show you as well.  Then I had some left over tee-shirt and decided to make a hair decoration as well. Oh, did I mention, there was no sewing involved.

First you take any Tee, I chose a 2XL Black from the 5 for $10.00 Shirt shop.

Next, you take a plate and use that as a template to cut out circles.

Next, spiral cut the circles inward. The smaller the thickness of the spiral, the longer the scarf will be).

Tie all the spirals together in the middle, using a piece of the sewn arm or bottom.

Wrap around neck and leave as is, or tie with a pretty pin.

I had some left over small pieces of the Tee, so I made a mini version and tied it to a barrett.

Very cute for the neck and/or the hair.
Ooh, how about wearing them both together.
Eeek, I just got excited thinking about it.
Look out New Years Eve Party, here I come!!!

Personalized Ornaments

Do you know someone that has a name that is rarely found in the personalized section?  If so, this would be the perfect gift for them.  Go down to your local thrift shop or nearby garage sale and you can usually find a scrabble game for about $3.00 or so.  This will give you the letters to create multiple ornaments. I took a popsicle stick and hot glued the scrabble tiles to it.  Then I used old buttons and some coordinating ribbon to create these ornaments for my husband.  I also created them for my family and friends and used them for place holders at the dinner table (people had a great time scoring their names and comparing with others at the table).

Can I smell Christmas without a live tree?

The answer is yes, the smell of Christmas is easy to create.  We will be out of town next week and didn't want to buy a live tree until we got back, as to not have the tree dry out without watering.  It was bittersweet, as I am doing all my Christmas cards and wrapping gifts, because I was missing the smell of Christmas.  So I gathered some items that I had in the house and made my own potpourri of Christmas scents.  I had some clementines, Craisins and some cinnamon sticks, so I cut up the clementines and threw all the ingredients in a pot of boiling water.  My house smells like Christmas and I am loving it!  If you have any other scents concoctions, I would love to try them.  I am going to bag these goodies up and put a Christmas hand stamped topper on it and give it to my neighbors and the kids school teachers I think they would love this thoughtful gift.

Cupcake Spa Socks - Zero Calories

I was going to a craft fair and wanted to have something unique to show.  I decided to create cupcakes using spa socks/microfiber socks.  I used the Stampin' Up! Designer Series papers and created a template for a cupcake wrapper.  Then I used a Stampin' Up! Punch to create a "cherry on top" using the same designer paper and a toothpick.  Below is a picture of some of the spa sock cupcakes and then the craft fair set-up as well.  I met some great people and look forward to being their Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  If you are interested in learning how to make these great cupcakes, please view the video below.  If you would like to order any Stampin' Up! products, feel free to visit my website at www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net to place your online order.

Send a Hand Stamped Card to a Hero!

Holiday Mail for Heroes Program Overview

The holiday season is just around the corner and it’s time again to start thinking about being part of the 2011 American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes. For a fifth year, American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes are partnering to ensure all Americans have an opportunity to send a touch of home this holiday season to members of our U.S. military, veterans and their families, many of whom will be far away from home this holiday season.
Starting this fall and throughout the holiday season, the Red Cross is working with Pitney Bowes, a mail stream technology company, to collect and distribute holiday cards to American service members, veterans and their families in the United States and around the world.
The process is very simple and takes no time at all - All you need is a pen and piece of paper to share your appreciation for the sacrifices members of the U.S. Armed Forces make to protect our freedoms The Holiday Mail for Heroes mail box is open and ready to receive for your cards. Please send all mail to:
Holiday Mail For Heroes
P.O. Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

Sending a “touch of home” to American men and women who serve our country is the perfect way to express your appreciation and support during the holiday season.

Card Guidelines:
Every card received will be screened for hazardous materials by Pitney Bowes and then reviewed by Red Cross volunteers working around the country.
Please observe the following guidelines to ensure a quick reviewing process:

  • All cards being sent in for 2011 Holiday Mail For Heroes program should be postmarked no later than Friday, December 9, 2011.
  • Ensure that all cards are signed.
  • Use generic salutations such as “Dear Service Member.” Cards addressed to specific individuals can not be delivered through this program.
  • Only cards are being accepted. Do not send letters.
  • Do not include email or home addresses on the cards, as the program is not meant to foster pen pal relationships.
  • Do not include inserts of any kind, including photos, as these items will be removed during the reviewing process.
  • We encourage participants to mail as many cards as they are comfortable sending. If you are mailing a large quantity, please bundle the cards and place them in large mailing envelopes or use a flat rate box from the post office. Each card does not need its own envelope, as cards will be removed from all envelopes before distribution.
  • Please refrain from sending holiday cards with glitter. Many of these cards will be delivered to military and veterans medical facilities and the glitter could interfere with a patient's recovery.

A very warm and sincere Thank You to my Lord and Savior, for reminding me, that I am

Left Over Scrabble Tiles - More Gifts

Wondering what to do with those left over Scrabble tiles after you have made you gift?  Well, here is what I have done.  Purchase buttons and a frame and glued a heart made out of buttons onto some Stampin' Up! specialty papers (buttons, papers and glue can be found on my website at www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net) and used the scrabble tiles L-O-V-E and glued them to an frame I purchased for 50 cents in the bargain bin at Staples.  I still have more frames and more tiles left over, so many gifts can be made for so little. ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

Great Gift Idea

Great holiday gift idea.  Inexpensive - Get out your Scrabble Game and arrange tiles with family names.  Take a picture, print and frame. Obviously, can be used over and over again and can still be used for its intended game.  Or you can go a little more costly - Rather than taking a picture, actually glue the pieces in place, and give the entire board as a gift, either framed or unframed. Perfect for anyone you know that has a game room or a couples engagement or wedding gift.  So many different ideas.  Also great for scrapbook pages... You are only limited by your imagination!  I found this set at a garage sale, only used once for $2.00 ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

What day is it now?

It is harder to keep track of days now, so I think I will just start doing months now that my first month is over.  Good news though.  After 3 planned workshops, I finally got my first order.  I am pretty happy!  Tonight's workshop we created a mitten Christmas card and also did some free for all stamping.  There we some great ideas that came out of this.  As you can tell by the following pictures.

Day 37

No time for Stampin' today, instead I spent the day delivering handmade cards and candy to special clients.  They were very much welcomed.  The evening was spent making candy apples with the kids and husband.

Recipe for Candy Apple:
3 Cups Granulated Sugar
1/2 Cup Karo Syrup
1 Cup Water
1/2 Teaspoon Red Food Coloring

Place all ingredients in Pot and stir.  Continuing stirring as mixture begins to boil.  Keep at boil until mixture get to 300 degrees.

Dip apples in mixture and rotate to fully cover apple.  Bring apple out of mixture and continue to turn until excess mixture falls back into pot.  Place candy apples on wax paper to cool and harden.

Will cover 8 apples.  Make sure you have sticks in your apples prior to dipping.  If mixture begins to harden, return pot to burner and re-heat.

Happy Halloween!

Day 35

Today my husband wanted to go to a yard sale, as he said he saw some SCUBA equipment he was interested in buying, so I went with him, as I am always up for a garage sale or two.  He spent $2.00 on a Dive Book and I spent $28.00.  This yard sale had buttons, card holders and handled bags that are just waiting to be stamped.  I also found a great shelf that I can store many stamping items in.  It was the deal of the day.  This evening I am going to move and re-organize all my stamping equipment.  I will take a picture when it is complete. ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

Day 32

Getting ready to go to another Girls Night Out.  This is what started it all for me.  I had such a great time that I wanted to make it part of my everyday life.  I have met such a great group of girls as well.  They are so creative and inspiring.  I am looking forward to coming back with more ideas for you.   I have also been looking for a lot of inspiration on the internet and have found some great videos.  Since I am now living in Arizona,  I am thinking I may want to try making a video or two to show my friends in California how to make a quick project using rubber stamps.    Speaking of California,  I will be heading out to the O.C. and will have a stamp class out there on Thursday.  This was just scheduled, so hopefully I will get some good ideas from tonight's Girls Night Out.  Below is a photo of all the great swaps I got from these talented women.  If you are interested in joining us, please email me at jeanpiersanti@gmail.com or visit my website at jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net  so you can join me while I am... ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

Day 29

I have been in Las Vegas this past week, so I haven't done much for Stampin', however I did get a new recruit signed up through my website www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net I also came home and was able to stamp some cards for an upline card swap.  The swap is to use items from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I created a Hawaiian Shirt using the Pines and Pointsettias Stamp Set.  It is amazing what you can see when you open up your mind and think outside the lines.  Here is a picture for your review.  Looking forward to my Upline meeting, so I can learn more from people who have been doing this much longer than myself.  ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

Day 20

Well, I haven't been able to post in a few days.  I have another job and have been travelling, but I still have good news.  I have a friend who is a stamper and she took advantage of the free BigShot for becoming a demonstrator.  So even though I wasn't in town I was able to sign up a new demonstrator through my website www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net .  I am so glad I bought the website.  If you are a demonstrator reading my blog I suggest you take advantage of the website through Stampin' Up!  If you are a stamper who is looking to become a demonstrator, please feel free to join with me by clicking here or visit http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/jeanpiersanti/jointhefun

Day 15

I signed up for a Stampin' Up! Demostrator Boot-camp and today was the first day.  I have received some great ideas and it is only the first day!  I can't wait for more.  I also created a birthday card for Shelli Gardner from Stampin' Up!.  This is the first card I made and will send as a demonstrator.  It is so gratifying to say you did it yourself.  Here is a picture of it!  As you can tell it goes along with the theme colors I have for this blog as well as my meetup.com group.  I just think, you can't go wrong with Pink, Black and White.  They are so clean and yet feminine at the same time.  ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

10/08/2011

Day 14

As you can see I didn't post anything yesterday, that is because I was too busy getting ready for my first workshop last night.  I had four women show.  We had a cupcake theme.  We ate cupcakes and other snacks and we used the create a cupcake stamp set and coordinating punch that came with my kit to make some nice cards.  I didn't get any sales from this event which was a little hard, but I did get a couple bookings for the future and hoping that will bring in some sales.  I did have a lot of fun and it was an evening of hanging out with other ladies, so all in all I would say it was a success.  Lot's of laughs and creativity!  ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

Day 12

Oh things are getting better, I had 3 people join my MeetUp Workshop for tomorrow.  So my first workshop as a Stampin Up demonstrator should have about 8 people.  Will post pictures and let you know how it goes tomorrow.  ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

Day 11

In a word... EXCITED!!!  I met with my upline and found so many easy ways to search for samples.  I was having a hard time searching through google and viewing various blogs.  So as I mentioned yesterday, I was getting a little impatient.  Today however, I found that Stampin' Connections is available for demonstrators to view various articles about the business.  A lot of great tips and guess what else??? SAMPLES!!!  So now I can put together a card to demo at my first workshop.  Wish me luck!  Until then I am ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

Day 10

I am meeting with my upline tomorrow.  I am gathering all my questions I have for her.  She has her business put together pretty well, so why not learn from the best.  I am looking forward to our visit tomorrow.  I must admit though, I am feeling a bit lost.  So tomorrow will be welcomed well.  I feel I need to write the good as well as the bad, as I want people to know exactly what they can expect when becoming a demontstrator.  I am sure this is a good decision for me.  So until then I will be...

Day 9

Okay, I have built a meet up to build my workshops.  If you are interested, the meetup in called Phoenix Stamping Beauties and the link is  http://www.meetup.com/Phoenix-Stamping-Beauties/  If you are in the greater Phoenix area and want to join us, please feel free.  We would love to see more friendly faces.  I am also thinking of creating or joining a card swap to grow my samples.  If you know of any, please let me know.  Until then I wil be... ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

Day 8

It has, officially, been one week since I became a Stampin' Up demonstrator.  My husband is so supportive, he pulled out all my stamps today so I could go through them and enjoy my hobby and new business.  I created a Meet Up on Meetup.com site called Phoenix Stamping Beauties.  I am hoping it will be a great way to drum up some external business. Of course, I have already "hit up" my family and friends and have booked a couple workshops through them.  I realized that I need to do some planning on creating an open calendar, so I know what dates I have available for workshops.  I want to post pics of my latest stamping creations, but someone has misplaced the cord to my camera.  I will have to buy a new one soon.  Until then, I will be Stampin' and ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

Day 7

Well, it's been a week now.  Tomorrow I am planning on a full of Stamping, can't wait to post some cards for you to see.  I did find out that Stampin' Up is having an awesome promotion to become a demonstrator.  I missed out, I was a week to early, but you don't have to miss out.  When you sign up to be a Stampin' Up demonstrator within the month of October 2011, you not only get everything you would normally get, you also get your choice of a Big Shot die cutting machine or $100 in Stampin' Up products, whichever you choose (I have posted a flyer for you below)  If you are interested in becoming a demonstrator, I would be more than happy to help you, just visit my website at www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net. Until then I will be ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

9/30/2011

Day 6

EXCITED!!!  All my stamps are put together, I have printed all the additional papers I need to create great Hostess Packets (Hostess Letter, Wish List,  and 40 Guests in 4 minutes), along with all the information that Stampin' Up sent me.  I have talked to two people and both of them have told me they would book a party, I just need to compare dates with them.  I have now learned that I need to have a couple hostess packets on me, as well as some dates that I have available for parties.  Until then I will be...  ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

9/29/2011

Day 5

It's here!!!  I got my starter kit today.  My dog was more excited to see the UPS driver than I was (which I didn't think was possible), it was so funny.  She ran out of the house and into the big brown truck.  She scared the UPS girl, we had to calm here down and told her Lucy wouldn't bite.  So now I am getting all my stamping things in gear.  I have built my hostess packets, not really sure what all needs to go in there, so I will ask my upline when I meet with her next week.  I sure do like that the rubber is cut for you now.  It didn't used to be that way, in fact I had my sciccors ready to cut and found that not only do I not need to cut my stamps, but also you don't have to use the wooden blocks, if you choose not to.  I am looking forward to trying the clear block stamps!  So, I will get stampin' and show you the samples soon, but for now I will show you a picture of Lucy, the UPS loving dog!   ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

9/28/2011

Day 4

I had dreams all night last night about my first workshop, which will be happening next week on October 7th.  I haven't received my kit yet, so as soon as it comes in I will have to work on getting a few demonstrations ready.  My background is in sales & marketing so I am following all the rules I give the clients that I consult.  I created a website, created a blog, let everyone know what I am doing and asked them all to come to my workshop.  For ease, I have added a few links to my blog. They are Catalogs (so my visitors can have and view any catalogs at a glance), Join My Team (so just in case anyone has made their decision to join after following my blog and seeing how easy or hard it is and realize they are up and ready for the challenge) and finally More Blogs and Websites (this is some other blogs and website that I find are useful and have good ideas, since I just started and don't really have any samples yet)  I don't have any followers yest, but I have already had 16 page visits (most of which are probably my own ; o ) I can't wait to start seeing followers and comments as this blog comes to life! Until then, I will keeping on ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~

9/27/2011

Day 3

Okay, it is Day 3.  I went to the weStamp monthly meeting last night and met all the talented women who are in my group.  There was a swap and after seeing some of the amazing ideas these women had, I became more and more inspired to stamp away.  Time is going so slow as I wait for my starter kid, especially since I just received an email saying my order has been shipped.  The next 24-48 hours are going to loooong.

I also have bought the website and can't wait for you to visit it.  The address is http://www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net I will make sure I post my first creations on the website and the blog.  I am so looking forward to sharing.

Okay, I barely slept last night, I was so excited.  I am going to sign up for the a StampinUp.net website later today.  I have also been invited to attend a meeting with my upline Lorri.  I met her through meetup.com, there were tons of other amazing women there as well.  I look forward to meeting more people withing the weSTAMP group as well. ~Living the Fairy Tale Life~
