Good Crafternoon - You've been framed!

Hi Beauties~

I love my crafternoons!  It is when I get a little time alone to do my crafts (usually on a weekend).  Today, I want to show you how I turned the Hardwood stamp into a frame rather than just a mere background.  I stamped crumbcake card stock with baked brown sugar ink, then using my Stampin' Trimmer, I cut out the inside of the card stock to the size I wanted.  Then I spritz it with water and crumpled it to get a more weathered wood look.  This made a perfect frame for my flower.  Using Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities to color in my stamped images, I believe these inks make the images come to life.  I just love the new blendabilites and can't wait to see more and more colors come out in the future.  I used the standard A2 card size and trimmed the opposite corners with a my corner rounder punch.  These are just a few of the items that I used to create the Sympathy Card pictured below.

www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net

Remember, just because it is a background stamp, doesn't mean it has to be used only as a background.  Get those creativity juices flowing and have a wonderful CRAFTERNOON !!!

In my Opinion:  Although the clear stamps are less expensive, I prefer the wood stamps for large backgrounds.  It makes it much easier and less messy.  Plus it's always ready with very little prep time.

Stamping in New York.... Back in Arizona with more stamping to come !!!

Hi Beauties~

I am back from New York for a few weeks and am already loving being home in Arizona!  I don't even mind the heat!  I am back to ALL my stamp sets and most importantly, my Big Shot!!!

I can't wait to get back into making more videos for you all.  I did make some cards for our hotel guests quite often and they really enjoyed them.  Here are some of the cards I made while in NY.  Hope you enjoy them.
http://www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net
This is a card that I made for my Dad's Birthday.  I used the What's you type for the background.
http://www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net
This one I gave to my my grandson Trent for his first birthday, using Gorgeous Grunge and What's your type.  This card is similar to my Dad's birthday card.  That is because I made them on the same day because they both have the same birthday.
http://www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net
This card was a fun one.  I sed the fleshtome blendabilities for the doggie.  I made this one for my brother.  He started his own salsa company called Mags & Tilly Salsa.  He couldn't go wrong because it taste just like my Grandma Esther's salsa.  I am so proud of him and can't wait to see where this venture takes him.
http://www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net

This card was just one of those happy accidents.  I was very pleased with the outcome and everyone who sees it, has told me how pretty it is.  I will show you in a later video how I did it.  So keep your eyes out for it.  I originally made it for my Mom, since I was really missing her.  My parents live in California, so we were 3000 miles from each other.  Well instead of sending this card, I decided to keep the card and drive cross country to go home and see her.  It was a great week!  I cried as soon as I saw her... No matter how old you get, it is always so comforting to be hugged by your Mom and Dad.

Baby - Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

Hi Beauties~

My sister-in-law is pregnant and expecting her first child this month.  She lives across the country and I wanted to give her something she could use immediately.  So I made a stack of Thank you cards, as she just had a baby shower.

I sent them and within two days I received a lovely thank you from her.  She was so excited to be able to send a handmade personal card to the guests who attended her shower.  It warms my heart to know that she loves my crafts and appreciated the time that was put in to make a dozen thank you cards for her.  I also made a matching box using and idea from my June My Paper Pumpkin pinwheel, with just a quick scissor technique.
Hope you like it.

Gearing up for Father's Day

Hi Beauties~

As I get ready for Father's Day, I think of all the wonderful men in my life.  My little grandson, made my son a Dad, my Husband a Papa  and my Dad a Great Grandfather (aka Pop), this year.  I have made some great cards with my My Paper Pumpkin, but I had to use the Blendabilities to make this great card for my own Dad (Pop, as you already know).  I have many more cards to make this year over last year.  Here is one that I can't wait to get in the mail.  The Alphabet Rotary Stamp made it easy to personalize this card.

This was done with the Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Blendabilities.  I am also loving the Thick Twine, it looks great when it is unraveled piece by piece.  Now back to making more Father's Day cards for the great Dad's in my life!

Bloom with Hope and Blendabilities

Hi Beauties~

Oh, the possibilities are endless, I am just loving both the Blendabilities alcohol markers and the Bloom with Hope Hostess set, coming in the new 2014/2015 Stampin' Up! catalog.  As you know, I have been very busy working on our hotel, but since these two items came in, I have made time to do some stamping.  Here are a couple of cards that I made using the Blendabilities (Stampin' Up!'s version of the Copic marker).

And the new hostess set that will be coming out soon, is the perfect stamp set to have for these markers.  The flowers are beautiful on their own, but then throw in some Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight and you will be set to make these pretty cards on your own.

I really love the rich colors on this flower, I felt like a real artist using the Blendabilities Alchol Markers!!!

Loving the new stamp sets...

Hi Beauties~

Are you tired of the Work of Art stamp set yet?  Me neither.  I think this will be one of my classic go to stamp sets, along with georgous grunge (they work perfect together, by the way)  Here is the latest quick and easy card using, you guessed it, Work of Art.  This card took me about two minutes from start to finish, that is what I love, seeing that I am stamping lot's of thank you cards for our guests here at our new hotel (the Travelodge in Farmington, NY) .  Don't you think this is cute and simple?  It's just Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze on whisper white, one jewel and viola!

Pound Grape, then stamp grapes!

Hi Beauties~

I can't believe I have made time for stamping.  Well, if I can make time to go on a half day wine tour, then surely I can find time to make a few Thank you cards for the great servers at the vineyards.  Here is what I made with the Work of Art Stamp Set that will be coming out in the upcoming 2014/2015 Stampin' Up! catalog.  There are so many things you can do with this wonderful and versatile set.  Don't those grapes look so good!  Yummy!!!

Hi Beauties~

Happy early Mother's Day to each and every one of you Mom's out there.  You are doing the hardest job in the world.  To celebrate my wonderful Mother. I made her this card.  I thought it came out so lovely, just like her!  This one of a kind creation is perfect for a one of a kind person.  I hope she enjoys it and I hope it gives you inspiration to create a card for someone special in your life.

What's your type?

Hello Beauties~

Okay, I am pretty sure you haven't seen too many sneak peeks of this stamp set from the 2014/2015 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  I won this "What's Your Type" stamp set at the Catalog Premier last month and have had so much fun playing with it (Thank you Prize Patrol).  I have had a hard time with the letters, but the shapes are awesome.  Here are a couple cards I made with this new set.  Enjoy!!!  Oh and I found this cute little flower frog at an antique show here in New York, so now I have something to hold my cards when taking pictures for you. YAY!!!

This card above also has the Work of Art stamp set combined with the What's your type.
This one was my first shot at letters.
The letters come out rather large, so this would be better suited for scrapbooking, in my opinion.
What do you think?

You are a Work of Art

Hi Beauties~  I know it has been a long long time, my life has been very hectic lately and I haven't had as much stamping time as I would have liked.  My husband and I purchased a hotel in Farmington, NY and have put a lot of time into moving here from Arizona and also making sure this hotel gets up and running at a level that I feel is perfect for our guests experience.  If interested, you can check out our new hotel at www.travelodgefarmingtonnewyorkhotel.com, it is our little baby!    Although most of my life has been hotel, hotel, hotel, I did find time to go to the Stampin' Up! Catalog premier in Syracuse and took home a great new catalog and two stamp sets (I won one of them via Prize Patrol).  Well, my dear friends, here is a card I made with one of the new sets called Work of Art.  I think you may like the background that I used to take my picture of the card as well (just a little sneak peek, perhaps)  ENJOY!!!

Quick & Easy Backgrounds for Handmade Greeting Cards

Hi Beauties~

Did you get a lot of Christmas gifts that came in bubblewrap?  I did, so I wondered if it would make a cool textured background for my hand made greeting cards.  The answer is yes!!!  I was so excited to see what a great background turned out.  First I tried it with ink refills and that came out way too messy and dark (too much ink).  Then I tried it by running it through the Stampin' Up! Big Shot in a sandwich bag.  That came out real nice.  I also tried it with the bubblewrap wrapped around a clear block and that came out just as well as the one I ran through the Stampin' Up! Big Shot.  So I decided that would be the one I showed you.  Very quick, very easy and such a great texture!  Here is the card I made along with a short video how to of how I did the background.

Quick, Simple & Easy Valentine

Hi Beauties~

Wow, it has been a while.  Hope your holidays were terrific.  Mine were great, with a lot of traveling.  I have been up and down the entire coast of California, been to Las Vegas twice and Reno is where I spent Christmas with my hubby's family.  I did have a great time, but I am happy to have a little time to relax at home and enjoy my craft room.  I wanted to get in a quick and easy valentine for you, since it takes a little longer when you have to make 20-30 little valentines for the kids schools, team and groups.  I thought this was a real neat one and also be used for a quick hello, thinking of you or thank you card.   I like it because this technique can also be used with virtually any punch.  Enjoy and Happy New Year to you and yours!!!
