Think outside the punch...

I have seen so many crafty ladies use punches in different ways.  This got me to thinking, why do we have to punch the entire circle?  Why now just punch half it and see what that looks like.  Then I thought, let's do this all kinds of crazy (if you are O.C.D., this is all kinds of crazy...lol because I like very plain, simple and proportions).  So this is what I came up with using Stampin' Up!'s Circle Circus, White Baker's Twine, Real Red Ink and paper, along with So Saffron paper.  You can barely tell in the photo, but a rhinestone in smack dab in the middle of the circle.  Hope you enjoy and I look forward to hearing about your "outside of the punch thinking".

So many ways to call him...

I just love this and had to share.  My dad lives about 5 hours from me, so I don't get to see him as often as I would like.  I will be thinking of him and my mom (who has to put up with him ;) this Sunday.  He is, and always will be my first true love!  Happy Father's Day Daddy!

From Scraps to Cards

Do you have some scraps of paper laying around?  Wondering what to do with them? Well, here ya go.  Get our your punches and Stampin' Up!© Big Shot and make some great cards out of them.  Here I took some scraps of Marina Mist, Crumb Cake and Certainly Celery and punched out circles in various sizes.  This can be done with any shape punch or just scissors, if you don't have punches.  I added lines to give it a bit of a funky retro feel.  Then I adhered the circles to whisper white card stock and using the Chevron Folder and ran through the Big Shot. This was done in about three minutes from start to finish.  To order any of the above please visit my website at www.jeanpiersanti.stampinup.net  Send me your ideas or photos of your "From Scraps to Cards".

Okay, I got a new favorite Stampin' Up! stamp set.  It is called Circle Circus.  I love it, because they have a punch for every circle.  This card, I made in about two minutes.  Just a few quick stamps, a few punches and some ribbon.  A little adhesive to finish it off and it a great card to send to anyone you are thinking of today.  Also a fun one to make a stack of with different saying that can be interchanged in a pinch.  A stack of these would make a great hostess gift.

Circle Circus and Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Sets
Colors are Melon Mambo, Marina Mist and Whisper White

Store and Organize Your Stamping Punches

If you are like me, you love your punches.  The problem is, I am always trying to find a spot for them as I add to my collection.  So I was at Anna's Linens today and picked up a couple of $5.00 curtain rods.  You know the kind that you would use in a kitchen window or something small like that.  Well I find a really cute decorative one (they have plain white ones as well).  I hung up the rod on the wall above my stamping desk and started hanging the punches.  They fit, all sizes fit, not just the big ones or small ones.  Now I will know where my punches are, with just a glance, within reach and see exactly which punch I want to use.  This is much better than searching through a bucket or drawer.  The best part is, they expand!  So if you have more punches, you just expand it.  If you are going to grow your collection, then I would suggest expanding first, as you don't want to have to put more holes in your walls.  I kept mine at the smallest size, for durability and will just add more rods when needed.

The Colors of Stampin' Up!

Oh, the beautiful colors.  If you are like me, you have so many things to remember that it is just so hard to remember the difference between River Rock and Sahara Sand.  Trust me, I am the first to be in awe of those who can.  So I created a little cheat sheet for myself with most of the current Stampin' Up! colors.  I also made them in a size that is easy to see and read when posted up on my stamping wall.  My plan is to get organized as well.  Therefore, I will be cutting each piece out and taping to a folder.  Then each folder will have all the card stock of that color, scraps and all.  Let's hope it works.  I will let you know when it is complete and maybe take a snap shot or two for you to see.  If you have any other ideas, that work for you, please let me know.

Dice Krispy Treats

Okay, this is a good one.  I went to bed early because me and a couple of girlfriends are going out to Laughlin, NV first thing in the morning.  Just a fun girls trip.  So out of the blue, pops into my head, hey how about Dice made out of Rice Krispies and Chocolate Chips, so I left my husband sleeping and went to the kitchen to make "Dice" Krispy Treats.  I will be hosting Bunko next month and think I will be making these for the girls.  I can't wait!

The New 2012 - 2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog - Live Today

Well, the wait is finally over.  In just one hour, we will be able to order from the brand new 201-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  I have looked through it from front to back and must tell you, I love, love, love it.  I am just counting down the minutes to place that first order.  Also, the new spanish catalog comes out today as well and I found a set in there that they don't have in the regular catalog.  I will be buying that as well.  It is for a girls 15th birthday (aka Quince Anera) and it is adorable.  The girl stamp can also be used as a bride, for a bridal shower.  I will post a sample when I get my stamp order in the mail in a few days!!!  Until then, here is a picture of the new catalog and you can click on the picture to go right to the online catalog.  Let me know if you need anything.
